Didem Sohretoglu studied Pharmacy, at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. She received her Master of Science degree in Pharmacognosy, Hacettepe University. She got her PhD in a sandwich Programme between Hacettepe University, Turkey and Lund University, Sweden. She worked as a post-doc in Department of Organic Chemistry, Lund University, Sweden for a short term. She was a visiting associate professor at the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department in Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA, USA for 1 year in 2016. Presently, she is an associate professor in Department of Pharmacognosy, Hacettepe University, Ankara (Turkey). She won the Scientific Encouragement Award of Turkish Pharmacists Association TEB in 2018.
Her research interests focused on the isolation, structure elucidation and antioxidant, anti-diabetic and cytotoxic activities of plant polyphenols. Her research interests mainly focus on anticancer activities (autophagy, apoptosis, proliferation, cell cycle and mTOR pathway) of natural products recently.
